TJ Donegan of reviewed.com believes he has and that Apple Inc now sees it’s future in the iPhone. Have almost single-handedly created the premium laptop sector, Apples CEO now seems to be handing the market to his competitors on a silver platter.
As Donegan is keen to point out there are Windows PC’s at half the price that run circles around most of the current older Mac models that desperately need an update.
“The new MacBook Pros are neat, but they’re all significantly overpriced, have a keyboard that is only slightly better than the MacBook, and are missing major ports requiring you to live the Dongle Life.”
Over the past few years, it’s become increasingly obvious that Apple’s future is all about the iPhone. But while the iPhone has been ruling the smartphone market, Apple’s MacBooks have lost their luster.
While mobile computing is the future, many users and Apple fans depend on Macs to get their work done every day. The new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar is finally getting into customer’s hands, with some lucky people receiving deliveries of their new laptops today. The MacBook Pro packaging features a side-on shot of the machine with the Touch Bar displaying a vibrant color palette. Based on reader tips, it seems that those who ordered early will be receiving their laptop this week or next with many deliveries confirmed for tomorrow.

Apple has started shipping its new MacBook Pro with Touch Bar to customers just as reviews of the all-new 13-inch and 15-inch notebooks are hitting the web. The reviews provide a closer look at the Touch Bar and whether or not the new MacBook Pro is a suitable upgrade for those with older models. The new MacBook Pro’s headline feature is the Touch Bar (Image: The Verge) Andrew Cunningham at Ars Technica said he “liked the Touch Bar a lot,” calling it “more convenient to use” than a traditional row of function keys. However, he noted the Touch Bar’s usefulness depends entirely on the apps you use and, to a lesser extent, how you use your computer. If you primarily use the MacBook Pro with a Thunderbolt Display and keyboard, for example, he said the Touch Bar will “do nothing for you.”If it’s being used as a desktop with an external keyboard a significant amount of the time, the Touch Bar does nothing for you.

The new MacBook Pro has been a long time coming. It’s been over four years since its last significant update. In the meantime, we’ve seen a bunch of impressive new takes on pro-level hardware, especially the Surface Book from Microsoft.
